The Dorthea Sweater is one of my very first designs, making it especially close to my heart. It is a beautiful sweater with delicate details, voluminous balloon sleeves, and a mix of different textures that create a unique look. The pattern is designed to be both easy and quick to knit, and I have included video guides along the way to ensure that everyone – regardless of experience – can join in.
Procedure:
The Dorthea Sweater is knitted from the top down. First, you create the neck band. Afterwards, you create the yoke by making increases. Then the sleeve stitches are put on hold, while you knit the rest of the body. After the body is finished, the sleeves are knit separately.
Size guide:
This sweater should have a positive ease of about 32-35 cm [12.60-13.78 inch] . compared to your bust measurement. The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL are equivalent to the bust measurements 85-90 (90-95) 95-100 (100-105) 105-110 cm [33.46-35.43 (35.43-37.40) 37.40-39.37 (39.37-41.34) 41.34-43.31 inch], measured on your own body. Measure yourself before you start knitting to figure out which size would fit you the best. I.e. If you measure 90 cm [35.43 inch] at the widest part of your chest, you should knit a size S, that has a bust circumference of 123 cm [48.43 inch] and thereby will create a 33 cm [12.99 inch) positive ease.
